Sorry I haven’t been keeping this up. Frankly it’s been a bit exhausting. The plenary – when all the countries are in the room – broke up at eleven last night but after various other meetings I don’t think I got to bed till after three. Today started at six.

By the end of yesterday I was feeling very frustrated by the whole process and it’s true it’s still on a knife edge. But the announcement by Hillary Clinton that the US will contribute to 100 billion dollars of long term finance is very welcome.

Gordon Brown said; “It’s very important because it means Europe and America can now say that the finance will be available over the long term as well as the short term.”
